Global Peace - Changing Hope to Action

PowerPoint for Peace is launched

We are very excited! PowerPointforPeace has been launched today. A global peace initiative conceptualized by Glenna Shaw, the PowerPoint magician and facilitated by Geetesh Bajaj from Ppted.com, this is an ambitious project, where we hope to create a universal presentation on global peace with contributions from anyone who wishes to promote World peace. Like any other presentation on authorSTREAM, this presentation can be embedded in your own site, blog or network so here' we go...

Ideas for World Peace

PowerPoint is a strong and easy-to-use medium to depict ideas. Glenna decided to put it to good use for the noblest cause - Peace:

I believe it’s time to show the world that we really are who we’ve been waiting for and it doesn’t matter who we are or where we are, we’re all a part of it."

Geetesh adds:

I think it’s an awesome effort to get everyday PowerPoint presentations juxtaposed with the concept of world peace. Every small effort will count, every thought can be shared, and every participant can tell a story."

What drives World peace? How can you change hope to action? Will food, clothing and shelter for all make a difference? How about religious tolerance? Is it education? Or even smooth traffic! We pondered on the topics and Glenna came up with this list:

  • Economics
  • Nutrition
  • Health
  • Education
  • Spirituality
  • Culture
  • Climate
  • Animals
  • Environment

The challenge, as we see it, is that global peace is indeed linked to a whole lot of aspects in our lives and with this presentation we hope to achieve and document pointers for action areas, which can be used as a reference point by governments, organizations, institutions, companies, thought leaders, motivators--anyone--to initiate action. We invite all to be a part of this global peace initiative. Jump in right here

‘Presentation Statistics’ summarizes the number of views for each URL of the website/blog where your presentation has been embedded. The feature helps you to track the number of views/visits to your presentation and also provides link-backs to the websites embedding your presentation.

Limitations

View count sums up the views from embeds received after this release. The views before this release are not included in the statistics.

Clicking on this link will open a dialog box to create and customize your widget:

You can choose from 1 thumbnail to upto 5 thumbnails to be displayed.

Here is what the output looks like:

Please note that scripting needs to be "enabled" in your blog or website for the widget to display correctly.

We will be adding more widgets like this one in future releases. You are most welcome to share your ideas about more widgets that you would want to see on authorSTREAM.
