It’s the Fourth of July, America’s Independence Day. On this very day in the year 1776, members of the Second Continental Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, adopted the final draft of the Declaration of Independence. And so the people of America were declared independent from the British colonies.
There was no looking back from that moment for the USA. It prospered and grew at a lightning speed in all areas- economy, technology, architecture, culture, sports and lifestyle. It became famous for the American dream, the lofty ideals of liberty, equality and justice. It became the symbol of hope and freedom for others. Out of this country came institutions, ideas and technologies that changed the fate of nations, the lives of every living man, woman and children.
On this day, let us revisit the A to Z of America– things, places, personalities and institutions America gifted to the world.
