These Were the Biggest Hollywood Blockbusters of 2014!

Biggest Blockbusters Best Hollywood Movies 2014 list

2014 was a great year for Hollywood. Action, romance, sci-fi, thriller…we had it all.

Sequels ruled the box office and also drew critical acclaim. The mutants stormed box office for the seventh time with X-Men: Days of Future Past. The mutants, at the verge of annihilation by the hands of powerful robots called Sentinels, make a desperate attempt to go back into past and save the future! The result: we got to see the colorful world of 1970s, the younger selves of these mutants and exciting action that kept you on the edge of our seat. As you’ll see in the presentation below, it was one of the highest grossing movies of 2014. And quite deservingly.

Spiderman came swinging back to box office, this time facing a formidable rival called Electro and his friend-turned-enemy Green Goblin. The Amazing Spiderman 2 was overall, ummm, amazing, stylish and yes romantic, but with an unexpected ending (unexpected at least for me!).

The list of sequels is pretty long. So hurriedly, I will refresh your memory with How To Train Your Dragon 2, Transformers: Age of Extinction, The Expendables 3, The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and the ever-so inspiring Katniss Everdeen starrer The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

Action wasn’t the only winner at the box office. The Fault in Our Stars, based on the tragic love story of two teens Hazel and Gus, moved audience to tears and hysterical sobs and became the surprise summer hit of 2014.

Towards the end came one of the most anticipated movies of 2014 and my personal favorite- Interstellar directed by the genius Christopher Nolan. Wormhole, another galaxy, life on other planets, black hole, and mind-boggling love-time-space theorems…it was a breathtaking movie. Did it become one of the highest grossing movies of 2014? See for yourself in the presentation below:
